Introducing stunt horse trainer - Freddy Steele

Freddy Steele is a Horse Trainer and Performer with a particular interest in stunt horses. He travels the world training and competing with horses as his lifelong passion has become a successful career. We caught up with Freddy to talk all things equine and Cotswold Fox!

How long have you been working with Horses and what made you get into it?
I’ve been working with horses since I left school at 16. I got into horses when I was really young as my mum had horses and that’s where it all began.

What does a typical week working as a Horse trainer look like?
No two weeks are the same! One day I’m on a film set, then the next day I’m teaching or training a horse at home. Add into that speaking at events, performing with horses at events and doing admin (which I despise) I never know where the path will take me next.

What is your favourite thing about working with Horses?
I love the endless possibilities of not knowing what might come next. Then just being able to work with my horses in learning and creating new things. It allows me to challenge myself and be creative and to spend as much time as I can with horses.

What is your favourite achievement in your career so far?
I think it would be my first big show with my own team. Performing with them at Blenheim Palace has to be up there.

What are your 3 favourite pieces from Cotswold Fox Clothing?
Obviously the ¼ zips! I think the Cheltenham is the one I wear the most. Closely followed by the Gilet… super smart over a polo or shirt. 3rd I’m thinking the Fleece Hoodies look super cosy.
