Emma and James Lowsley-Williams live at Chavenage Estate in the Cotswolds which has been within their family for 250 years. You might recognise the house as the filming location for Disney's 'Rivals' or BBC's 'Poldark'. Together they are renovating the estate as well as documenting life at the manor and all that goes into running the estate on their Youtube channel ‘Life At The Manor’. We caught up with them to find a little more about their life:

What does a typical week for you both look like working on the estate?

“It is very very varied for us - living and working on the estate means doing every job under the sun and there’s no set hours. Ems spends the majority of her time running the cafe and glamping business here and James takes care of the wider estate - dealing with businesses, tenants and the land.” 

What’s your next goal you’re working towards together?

“Our biggest job is our upcoming renovation of the main house - we are renovating a wing of the house to create a family home for ourselves. This hasn't been done in over 70 years so it’s a big job! We are also growing our YT channel, Life at The Manor and hoping to bring on some sponsors for the channel and grow the businesses here at Chavenage”

What is your favourite achievement so far since taking over the estate?

“I think for Ems it’s the cafe business and James its Life at The Manor reaching over 100k subscribers.”

“We absolutely love our Cirencester Quarter Zips, the Fleece Lined Gilet and Ems has got her eye on the new Snowshill dress!”
